Dale Borley
Just thought I’d share this with you. This is in response to an petition I signed & sent to my representatives…
Dear Mr. Borley:
Thank you for contacting me about H.R. 1842, the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act of 2011. I appreciate hearing your thoughts and concerns on this important issue.
As you probably know, H.R. 1842 was introduced by Congressman Howard Berman (CA-28) on May 11, 2011. If enacted, it would allow children who came to the United States illegally with their parents to remain in the US and attend college. This bill has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee, of which I am not a member.
In order for us to have real immigration reform, our top priority needs to be to first secure our nation’s borders and start enforcing the immigration laws already enacted. To do so we must give our law enforcement officials the resources they need to secure our increasingly dangerous border.
Having said that, many of those who are now in this country were brought to this country at a very young age, with no choice in the matter. They have lived as Americans and have no ties to their home country, and did not knowingly cross the border. Nonetheless, while the goals of the DREAM Act are noble, we cannot forget that we are a nation of laws. Any legislation that deals with these children in the future cannot provide a pathway to citizenship or in-state tuition.
Although I am not a member of the House Judiciary Committee, I look forward to reviewing its findings on the DREAM Act. Any reform must properly execute our need for law and order while not creating incentives for continued illegal immigration. Rest assured, should this bill come before the full House of Representatives for a vote, I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind.
Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. As your representative in Congress, it is helpful for me to know your thoughts and opinions on issues that are important to you. I would encourage you to visit my website, http://labrador.house.gov, where you can read about my views on a variety of issues and also sign up for my e-newsletter.

Who can I talk to about recurring gifts? I tried making one but it wouldn’t process.
I understand your wanting to help people, but……..how much respect do you have for America if you are here illegally? Not to mention the fact that when things get tough you run. Why don’t you fix what’s wrong in your country. I am sick of paying for illegals. This is so sad, I watched a girl here illegally, just getting ready to graduate and she was upset because we are not giving her citizenship. Excuse me, why would we? She is now educating other illegals on how to use our system. Yeah America’s pride. She has no respect for us or her home country. Come legally or don’t come at all!!!
My family has been here since the 1600′s, I know some of what they went through to make America the land of the free, how free is it now? You coming here illegally is a huge part of the trouble we find ourselves in today. You want us to grant you simpathy, while you continue to break our laws. Do you not see our anger, put yourself in our place. How did you like it when the roles were reversed, you didn’t! So why are you now doing what you say we once did? This has made me hate illegals, when years ago, I actually would help them out. No More! Good job you are creating racist & hatred in a place you want to call home.
